It’s been a while since I’ve posted any treasuries, so I thought I’d share a couple from the end of last year that I thought you might like. The first one is clever, titled “Escape From The City,” featuring city and travel themed listings, including our JuJu Eyeball sparkly roach earrings. The next treasury follows one of my favorite themes – local! It’s also a Valentine theme, I suppose, in red and white. This is the first time any of my new harnesses have been featured – exciting!
(I apologize that I didn’t post these treasuries sooner – some items that were featured have already sold.)
So, if one of your new year’s resolutions involves buying locally, or supporting handmade/artisans/small business (and good for you for making that resolution,) this is a great place to start. Etsy can be a little overwhelming, even if you do a specific search, and treasuries can be a quick, aesthetically pleasing way to shop.
The weather has been consistently sunny for the past few days here in DFW, so I think, after a quick trip to the pharmacy, I’ll break out the new camera the hubby gave me for Christmas and take some photos for the shop.
Hope your new year has been wonderful so far!

Mom and I have a pair of Tennyson volumes listed in our Etsy store, and they’ve been a favorite amongst treasury makers. I didn’t realize how popular they were, though, until they were featured in two treasuries in one day! Don’t tell anyone, but I think they might be getting a big ego …
Thanks to the talented Etsians who created these two beautiful treasuries!

So, as you all know, this business of ours consists of my mom and I. We’ve worked together for a long time now, just not on such an “official” basis as this. I used to help with the family store – a cool store called “The Vinery” that my mom and grandmother had together when I was younger. Since we’ve found etsy, it’s been a constant source of inspiration and something that we’ve shared with just about anyone who’ll listen, and something makes me think it hasn’t gone unnoticed.
I’m so excited to say that my sister in law, Jamie, has just opened her new etsy shop, Keeslerphotoframes! She’s a talented photographer who currently favors subjects of the floral kind. Her photos are colorful, striking, and feminine. As her shop grows, she’ll add black and whites, various sizes, and different photography subjects.
What surprised me was that she also makes her own frames! I had no idea that was going to be a part of her business, and I think it sets her apart from many other photography sellers out there. The frames are wooden and hand cut. She decorates some with her original wood burned designs, which she then stains or paints. The “glass” she uses to float her images is actually plexiglass, a more durable alternative to glass and great for shipping.
“I just want everyone to see the beauty that surrounds them and how lucky we are to have a God that thinks to give us such beauty. The flower photos that I have taken…the flowers are now dead, but I can capture them forever in a single click and I just love that. When I photograph things I look for the true beauty…not the posed beauty that people usually try to show, but the real and true beauty of people and things…” – Jamie Keesler
Please visit her shop for more information!
My mother in law, Georgia, has also opened her own etsy shop to sell her soft and cuddly crochet apparel. Look for waterbindmom‘s shop to begin filling up soon!
You see what I mean? Our family is spreading like wildfire through etsy – a force that cannot be tamed!
Do you come from creative stock, or are you the black crafty sheep in the family? Any relatives on etsy?

For some, crazy backgrounds seem to just work. If you use hot pink backgrounds, and it attracts buyers, more power to you!
However, there’s something to be said for a simple, white background. Often, when people use light boxes, their background is white, because it helps reflect light onto the object you’re photographing. Even when just using natural light, a white “reflector” (outside the frame of photography) reflects a soft, pleasant glow onto the object.
In light of all this, no pun intended, we’ve decided to give it a try, and I think the results are pretty good.
Take a look at the store to see our new pictures, and some newly relisted items.
