Vintage Clothing Photo Shoots!

We are so, so excited to work with the fabulous makeup artist, Tiinia Auler, her beautiful model friends, and photographers like Evelyn and Misti, who have a passion for vintage pieces and want to do them justice.

We met Tiinia at the last show we did, and she placed a couple of custom orders with us for her wedding. As she got to know us, she realized the extent of our vintage obsession (we’re talking closets full, y’all.) So, she asked if she could feature some items from our collection along with some of our handmade accessories and jewelry in the upcoming photo shoots she was working on. Of course, we said yes! These are the results from the first couple of sessions – click the photos to go to the photographers’ Facebook albums and see more.

Obviously, if you’re in Texas, we highly recommend Tiinia for hair and makeup! Her work is impressive, and she uses her knowledge of fashion makeup, beauty makeup, and even special effects, to create the exact looks her clients want – from wedding days to haunted houses. She’s sweet, punctual, and has a great work ethic, including sincere customer service.

Friday’s Favorites – Handmade Holidays!

This month, we participated in Etsy 817’s first show – Handmade Holidays! As members and vendors, we were excited to see how it all turned out. Other than some issues with signage and the university, including employees forgetting to lock the downstairs entrance to the upstairs jogging track above our gym (helloooo, random joggers above our heads,) it was a great show!

I have to say, I was impressed by the variety and quality of the vendors’ items. We’ve been to lots of shows, and jewelry and baby items can sometimes dominate the scene. (Nothing wrong with that, but it doesn’t give you many choices!)

We had a bit of a snafu with our setup, but that was quickly remedied by nice neighbors and the show organizers. Here’s how it looked:

To check out pics of the other amazing vendors, go here.

Luckily, we had my hubby with us to help setup, and got to browse the show and do some Christmas shopping! I bought some yummy smelling soaps from Clover Hollow, Iron Man coasters for the bro in law from Make It Sick, a bookmark for the MIL from Book-Inz (our neighbors!) and some local photog prints.

Hoping all of you had a merry Christmas!

A Break From Blogging

Happy summer everyone! My dear hubby gets a few weeks off from school before summer classes start, so we’ll be catching up on quality time together. My blogging will probably be scarce – if I have something really cool to share, I will! Meanwhile, you can always check out what’s new on ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com/230622362213, (we’ll also list new items soon in our etsy shop: http://buymelove.etsy.com) or read our other blog: http://patientsvoicewhocares.blogspot.com.

I hope you’re all having a safe, sunny week!

Tuesday’s Treasure – Green & Gold

Two of Mom’s items have been featured in these beautiful treasuries this week: one of her fascinators, and a vintage lingerie set! Please check them out for inspiration, eye candy, and enchanting gift ideas.

Skin - Glam Gifts by RonitGolan

The Secret Garden by waterwaif

I like the first treasury for it’s muted nude and gold tones – a classic and elegant combination. Nudes and pale pinks are trendy for this fall, and gold is always in style. The second treasury is vivid and magical! I love that green is a popular color this fall – it transitions well into winter, spring, and even into summer. Lord knows I love a piece of clothing that will leave a lasting impression in my closet.

Treasure Tuesday

I have a special place in my heart for fall; it’s my favorite season. The trees turn fiery shades and the leaves crunch under your feet, there’s Halloween and Thanksgiving to look forward to, and Tom and I were married in the fall (November is still autumn in Texas!) So, here’s this week’s treasury, honoring the season, and the brides to be married during it:

A Vow On The Lawn, Among The Leaves

On that note: For all you honeymooners and anniversary celebrators, check out the new vintage lingerie we’ve listed in the store!

Hope you’re all enjoying a taste of fall weather.

Other Than Etsy …

Those who’ve visited our etsy store may or may not have noticed the link to my mom’s ebay listings in our announcement. Now that she’s feeling better, and now that we’ve built up the etsy store again, she’s started listing on ebay, too.

Here’s a link to her fabulous new and vintage lingerie: Designingmoon’s Lingerie

Click on “View Items For Sale” on the right side of the screen to see her current listings!

If you’re an Etsy shopper, be sure to read the announcements of the shops you like. They probably have other websites, or even other Etsy stores, where you can buy from them.

Feeling Frilly – New Vintage Lingerie In Store!

Just thought I’d share some of the pretty pieces of lingerie we listed in the store today:

Eighties 2 PC Teddie and Robe

Seventies Eve Stillman Nightgown

Sixties Kickernick Slip Dress

We are so excited to finally get some of these luxurious pieces listed! No foolin’ – that teddie set feels like butter. And there’s lots more where that came from.

Lingerie makes a great gift for the bride to be, and, as always, for any major holiday for your significant other. One thing women don’t do often enough, though – buy it for themselves!
