It’s our last week of December giveaways! This week, we’re giving away this whimsical macaw feather fascinator:

This fascinator is handmade from naturally fallen, hand curled macaw feathers, white marabou feathers, a pink, green, and blue button finding with clear rhinestone accents, and vintage Austrian crystals floating mid-air on monofilament thread. The snap clip on the back makes the piece very versatile to wear (it can be turned at any angle.)

It’s that time! I’ve had a late start reminding everyone of the competiton, because Mom’s been recovering from a knee replacement. It’s been almost three weeks, and though they made mistakes at the hospital with her medications, and she’s had a bad reaction to the pain meds they prescribed her, she’s finally feeling better and on her way to rehabilitation! We’re both excited to start building up our business after a long road of health struggles and other obstacles, and look forward to having our own studio workspace together.

Vintage Clothing Photo Shoots!

We are so, so excited to work with the fabulous makeup artist, Tiinia Auler, her beautiful model friends, and photographers like Evelyn and Misti, who have a passion for vintage pieces and want to do them justice.

 

We met Tiinia at the last show we did, and she placed a couple of custom orders with us for her wedding. As she got to know us, she realized the extent of our vintage obsession (we’re talking closets full, y’all.) So, she asked if she could feature some items from our collection along with some of our handmade accessories and jewelry in the upcoming photo shoots she was working on. Of course, we said yes! Obviously, if you’re in Texas, we highly recommend Tiinia for hair and makeup! Her work is impressive, and she uses her knowledge of fashion makeup, beauty makeup, and even special effects, to create the exact looks her clients want – from wedding days to haunted houses. She’s sweet, punctual, and has a great work ethic, including sincere customer service.

Whatever Weekend – Fancy Hair Wear

Mom has been working her patootie off creating new headbands, hair clips and fascinators! We’ll be listing them throughout the week, so keep your eyes peeled.

Here’s the first in the spring/summer line:

This one was inspired by vintage swim caps (and an authentic vintage feather headband Mom used to have.) Each feather is hand curled, and the headband is line with soft black velvet ribbon. You’ll see lots of bright colors and whimsy in our shop within the next week!
